May I suggest a 6-word easy-to-remember prayer: Teach me to do thy will. It might be the most important and most productive prayer we ever pray. Like the Psalmist I need to ask Him to teach me and lead me many times every day. Psalms 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. 25:4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. 5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. 27:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. 86:11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name. 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. 143:10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. |
